We went to the BAN KWAN elephant camp which is an initiative by the asian elephant foundation. The elephants there used to be used for all kinds of work and lost their importance when cars and other inventions took over.To provide the elephant with a natural environment and a meaningful existence the foundation created two elephant camps on Koh Chang where the elephants have become a major tourist attraction.
Not only were we able to ride on the elephants through the jungle, we were also able to wash them at the a river nearby. Finn, Luca, Matthis and Phil went into the water with the elephants and I took some photos and watched that green poisoness snake which was sitting on a branch on the other side of the riverbed.
